A Spanish Valentines Buffet Dinner


  • Una Noche de Amor: a Spanish Valentine Buffet Dinner at La Tolda in Plazuela de Iloilo 

    February 14- the day of Hearts can just be more special for partners and members of the family who went to Plazuela de Iloilo at Diversion road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City to experience and taste the one of a kind valentine’s buffet prepared by Alejandro’s Catering in partnership of Plazuela de Iloilo at its premier function venue- the La Tolda. 

    Ilonggos now get to celebrate the special occasion even down to the late hours of the night at this place to be where lifestyle continues to transform as tradition remains. Countless people trooped to and splurged at the different restaurants lined along the beautifully-designed complex while those who made reservations for the main buffet dinner at the big Tent had more special moments to reminisce in an event and venue that is not available all the time. 

    Outside the venue while the grand dinner was prepared inside the air-conditioned tent, customers get to enjoy the photo-ops at the props prepared for this momentous evening. 

    Upon making our ways in, all were surprised to see the sophisticated decorations suited for this big time Spanish-themed dinner. From the chandeliers to the finest details, all were set-up in such a glamorous matter and all were in place. 

    The appetizers were then served as the music videos played in their HDR projected screen set the atmosphere in such a romantic way. 

    For the soup, there was the Fabada- a bean soup with salted pork and chorizos. One of the sidings were the Croquetos- mashed potatoes rolled on crumbs with ham and cheese filling deep fried to golden brown. 

    Among the hot entrees for the night was the Lengua Salpicao or Ox tongue cooked in salpicao style with white wine and lots of garlic and red & green peppers. There was also the Callos ala Alejandro- their very own slow cooked ox tripe, ox knuckles and snout sautéed in olive oil pimento with sparklings of chorizos and lots of olives. 

    The Pan grilled grouper with average credys sauce can just be baked to perfection is also one hot and main entrée. At the middle was the Paella bar with seafood toppings and more ingredients to enjoy one of the famous Spanish dishes. There’s definitely more dishes and desserts to try, next time I will look forward to coming back at the La Tolda’s buffets and events.
