Buho Bakery

The old-time Buho Bakery tucked in this small calle in Mapa st., Iloilo City is one of the bakeries that I adore for selling hot pan de sal, pancho and other pastries. Owned by a local Chinese family, this bakery has a story to tell that dates back during the war in the 1940's. The reason why it's called "buho" or hole is that they just used to sell their bread to customers who knock on the cover of the hole in order to be safe.
Now, the door is open and customers can buy and eat inside the bakery. Even up now, they are still known to Ilonggos not just for their history but because they still serve a variety of appetizing and tasty bread.
