Freska Hometown Buffets

Located at the Ayala Technohub building, Freska Ilonggo Seafood and Inasal that started in Iloilo City and now has branches in Metro Manila recently opened its first Hometown Buffets. Iloilo's famed Chef Pauline Gorriceta-Banusing conceptualized this buffet that serves local flavors of Iloilo and the nearby provinces.

Before trying out everything, I made sure to have their La Paz Batchoy. It was of course fantastic! After Kris RealiTV visited Iloilo City last year, Chef Pauline prepared this dish with Kris in her studio. I just knew that I'll love it, and I did! Ilonggo buffets can never be complete without this.

After trying out some of their appetizers and the rest of the dishes, I liked their lechon kawali, baked oysters (talaba), imbao shells and the sweet chili crabs.

Lechon Kawali- fried to perfection! Crunchy, tasty and sometimes guilty! Hehe.
Baked Talaba! Well, it's the trend for oysters these past few years. Check attendance here!
Imbao shells or the Mangrove clams: its usually bigger than oysters, it also has a distinct taste which is also interesting.
Sweet Chili Crabs!
