More from Horizon Cafe at Injap Hotel Tower

For the past few weeks after Horizon Cafe opened at the top of Injap Tower Hotel in Diversion Road Iloilo City, it has a become talk of the town. Not only that it is located on top of the tallest building in the region as of the moment, word spread quickly that they are introducing new dishes for the Ilonggos and that really madfe us all very excited. It is owned by Singaporean entrepreneurs Mr. & Mrs. Meng and Christina Tan. Despite having some setbacks a few days after their opening, it didn't stop us all from wanting to go up and see how our beautiful city looked from a different and that elevated perspective. Of course, it's not just the view that makes us want to go up there- it's also the food! They offer Western and Asian ala carte meals, desserts and beverages.

On weekends, everyone is advised to make a reservation ahead of time so that they can serve you better. For groups of 10 or more up to 20, they have a meeting room that can accommodate you privately.

Carcosa @ The Uptown Place

One of Iloilo City's newest restaurants is Carrcosa. We visited it last June 30 to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary. Located at The Uptown Place in General Luna (near UP Visayas Iloilo City Campus and Sarabia Manor Hotel), this restaurant is strategically positioned in between the city's new and old business districts. My mother was more pleased to meet to meet the owner of the resto who was her clasmate in high school, Psychiatrist Dr. Rowena Cosca. She used to own the now defunct Tijuana restaurant nearby.

Thanks to sir Bodi Mijares of La Roasteria, I was able to discover this new place to dine. At first I was hesitant to bring my family there because I didn't know what food they were serving and if the place was really good. Thank God I was never disappointed.
